Ans: Regional tourists are the citizens of Bangladesh, India, and Maldives visiting Bhutan for the purpose of leisure tourism including those visiting Bhutan for pilgrimage.
Q.2 What is the valid travel document required for regional tourist to visit Bhutan?
Ans: Passport with having at least six months of validity from the intended date of departure from Bhutan.
Q.3 What is the valid travel permit for regional tourists to visit Bhutan?
Ans: E-permit confirmed by Heavenly Bhutan Travels, approved & issued by immigration is valid travel permits for regional tourists for visiting Bhutan.
Q.4 How to process e-permit for Bhutan?
Ans: If you have confirmed your trip with Heavenly Bhutan Travels, e-permits to visit Bhutan will be automatically taken care.
Q.5 What is the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)?
Ans: SDF is a fee levied by the Royal Government of Bhutan to all tourists visiting Bhutan. This is levied to promote sustainable and responsible tourism under the overall principle of “High value, Low volume” tourism. SDF contributes to social welfare, developmental activities, conservation of environment, promotion of culture, and enhancement of infrastructure and facilities for tourists.
Q.6 How much is SDF?
Ans: SDF for regional tourists from Bangladesh, India and Maldives is INR 1200 per person per night, which is approximately USD 16. For more check here.
Q.7 What will be the currency for SDF payment?
Ans: For the Indian passport holders, the remittance received should be in INR.
For the Bangladeshi and Maldivian passport holders, the remittance received should be in USD.
Q.8 How can regional tourists make the payment?
Ans: Tour payment can be made by wire-transferring/NEFT/RTGS or by using cards to Heavenly Bhutan Travels.
Q.9 How long does it take to approve the e-permit?
Ans: It will take at least 5 working days to approve the e-permit.
Q.10 Can the stay be extended?
Ans: Yes, tour can be extended with help of Heavenly Bhutan Travels after working on the payment for the extended tour & SDF/Taxes.
Q.11 What is the maximum duration for tourist permit?
Ans: A tourist permit shall be initially granted for maximum duration of 30 days or for actual duration of stay whichever is less.stions for Regional Tourists
