All our guests are picked up from your convenient points and dropped back after the tour. The one-day tour comes with a light pack lunch, to be handed over to you at the base of the car parking. Day 01: Start the journey from Thimphu to Paro for Hike to Tiger’s Nest
Taktsang Gompa/Tiger’s Nest Temple- This is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and religious Buddhist site in the world. The name Taktsang translates to “The Tiger’s Nest”. The temple is one of the holiest sites in Bhutan which clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the valley. The monastery was named Taktshang after Guru Rinpoche flew there from Kurtoe Singay Dzong riding a tigress in the form of Guru Dorji Drolo. Gyalse Tenzin Rabgay began the construction of the monastery in 1692 and completed it in 1694. The monastery houses many temples that contain sacred statues of eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche, Tshepame Yabyum, and a Bone relic of Pelgi Singay. Although average hikers can make it to the top in two hours, most of the guests take a whole day to complete the hike. Its 20-minute drive from Paro town followed by 3 hours hike- One way. After hike return back to Thimphu. End of the tour & services.
